С помощта на VinylStudio меломаните могат бързо и без старания да преобразуват своите сбирки от плочи или магнетофонни записи в дигитален тип. Програмата ще раздели независимо наличието на плочата на обособени песни и ще отстрани непотребните шумове, ще смъкна детайлности за песента от интернет, ще сътвори лист с песните, който най-после може да експортира в определен от потребителя редактор на обложки.
VinylStudio дава опция за поправяне на шумовете, установяване на аудио битрейта, на употребяваните канали(моно, стерео, 2.1, 5.1 и т.н.), тъй че те да добият добър цифров тон. VinylStudio ви дава и опцията да запишете получените песни в MP3 или WMA формат, както и на аудио диск. There’s no need now to have a Discogs account to search their database.
VinylStudio can now embed ID3 tags in WAV files as well as the older INFO tag. ID3 tags are read by a wider variety of players (including VLC and Windows Media Player).
If you recorded your album sides in the wrong sequence (typically side 2 and then side 1), you can correct this by dragging the recorded files around in the list in the Record or Split Tracks dialog.
The size of the recording buffer is now configurable from 1 to 60 seconds (in the Recording Options dialog).
You can now record DSD from devices supporting ‘native’ DSD over ASIO.
VinylStudio now supports quad rate DSD recording.
Search the ‘MP3 Downloads’ index in the Amazon databases as well as the existing Music index. This contains more track listings and (usefully) puts in track break markers for you.
On Windows, VinylStudio now runs correctly in ‘high contrast’ mode. This should help users with a visual impairment to use the software more easily.
When normalising, VinylStudio now does not scan the leadin or leadout parts of the recording (provided that you define track breaks first).
VinylStudio can now handle upto 30 album sides per album (up from 20).
You can now add additional albums to your collection while recording.
The rumble filter now has a setting to perform just DC offset correction.
On Windows, pressing F11 now makes VinylStudio go full screen. Press F10 at any time to toggle the menu. Full screen operation is also supported on OS X Lion and later.
The recording level indicators can now display either dB or percent (linear). The latter is more precise.
When burning an audio CD, VinylStudio now allows you to burn a second, identical, CD more quickly.
Dropdown lists now position themselves to the nearest matching entry when you start typing. Just press Enter to complete the entry.

In the Windows version (only), we have switched to a larger font for the user interface. This, and the background, are now configurabe by the user, see Menu -> Options -> Change Font and Background.
VinylStudio can now group saved tracks into folders by artist and album title on data CDs and DVDs. This is useful for DVD players that can only handle a limited number of files in any one folder.
VinylStudio now uses multiple threads (in parallel) when saving your tracks. This can result in a considerable speedup on multi-core machines.
Creating an album when you start recording or import a sound file has been streamlined. It should now be more obvious what to do, especially for new users, with fewer popups.
VinylStudio can now read and write cue sheets.
The Mac version is now 64 bit. It does, however, still run on 32 bit machines.
Due to changes in Amazon policy we have been forced to remove the Amazon databases from the lookup track listing function. Sorry about that, but Discogs is better anyway.
Minor changes:
Improved functionality when importing multiple audio files – you can now add to existing album sides whereas before you had to always start from side 1.
When inserting a track break you can now tell VinylStudio to split the current track (rather than adding a track at the end) by holding down the Alt / Option key.

Better support for input devices that switch automatically between PCM and DoP.

Implemented shortcut keys to save (5) and restore (6) the current zoom level and cursor position in the Split Tracks and Cleanup Audio windows.
Bug fixes:
Fixed the help text display in the Check Level dialog on Windows (this was scrolled to the end, which in turn was confusing).
Fixed a problem declicking DSD files.
Correctly remember ‘Last settings used’ when scanning for clicks.
Worked around a problem with track names not showing up on iOS in Albums view when saving tracks in MP3 format.
Fixed a problem with the ‘Browse folder’ link when saving singles.
Fixed a problem saving OGG files with non-ASCII characters in the file name (they were always saved, regardless of whether they had been saved before).
