„BSP – United Left“ split!: Two parties leave the coalition!
The political parties „ Movement 21 “ and „ Bulgarian Spring “ have submitted letters of resignation from the „ BSP – United Left “ coalition . This was announced just moments ago by the two political forces. Here are their reasons:
„ The joining of „ BSP – United Left “ to a governing coalition with the mandate of the GERB party is in contradiction with the goals of the left-wing alliance. According to the current coalition agreement and political platform, the main goal of the „ United Left “ is to create a governing alternative. To oppose the corrupt political model that generates one coalition after another, completely disregarding the interests of the Bulgarian citizens. To implement left-wing, center-left, and patriotic policies that would offer a perspective for the country as a European, democratic, competitive, and social state.
Participation in a government with the mandate of GERB, in partnership with right-wing formations, from the position of the fifth largest parliamentary force, offers extremely limited opportunities for achieving the set goals and implementing socially oriented policies. The parliamentary group of „ BSP – United Left “ will serve the mandate holder as a cover for opportunistic, situational majorities, formed to serve interests foreign to the left and well-known corruption schemes within the government. The model of governance through corruption, theft, and abuse cannot be eradicated together with the individuals who created and embody it. “
