The pizzeria of one of the most active members of the Nessebar Public Council was broken into. The act of vandalism was committed that night. It was reported on the social network Фейсбук by Krastyo Peev , who is also one of the most active members of the Public Council.

The owner of the restaurant is Aristid Karavidov . This morning it was found with two broken shop windows .

Peev posted a video on Фейсбук showing the damage done to the pizzeria.

„ This just shows what type of people are affected by the activities of the Community Council! People who are willing to attack and take away the livelihood of a father of three children who is literally taking his bread with his hands. Yet, he manages to give a piece of himself and his time for the future of this municipality! “, he wrote on the social network.

Peev told Iskra.bg what exactly the activity of the Public Council-Nessebar is:

„ The Public Council is a civil organization that tries to normalize all processes in our municipality that could be regulated by the instruments of the law in a state governed by the rule of law. Wherever there is a problem, we react. Our last action was against a port that was being renovated with European money. We cannot see where the BGN 7.4 million was used. And the port is falling apart with every little bit of wind. A brand new port! Another of our recent actions with a huge public response was the violent reaction of hundreds of citizens against public transport in the city. In general, the Public Council is everywhere there is a need for it in the Municipality of Nessebar. We are not a national structure. We work only on the territory of the Municipality. The active core is 30 members to date. There are many more sympathizers. “

Krastyo Peev is convinced that Aristid Karavidov’s pizzeria was attacked precisely because of his active work in the Public Council :

„ Mr Karavidov lived outside the country until recently. Then he returned to Bulgaria and opened a pizzeria where he makes pizzas from sourdough and kneads bread with his hands and sells it. He is a father of three and imagine how he works alone and also manages to be so active on the council. Where and what else could he do! Because the council is this so active body that messes up a lot of people’s accounts. I’m not pointing fingers, but a lot of powerful people are uncomfortable with that. “

„ They attack Aristide because he is a family man. His wife might be scared of this thing. And they currently want to peel away the strength and core of the Public Council so that they can weaken us. So by the method of exclusion this is the cause. Aristide has nothing else to attack him for! “, he also pointed out.

Iskra.bg managed to talk with owner of the restaurant, Aristid Karavidov. He was also adamant that it was unlikely that business interests were affected in this case.

„ I have no such competitors in the area who are directly affected by my activities. My family is calm. We have no conflicts. We don’t have any enemies or have I been involved in any scandals, any scenes. My children are young. I have three children. My business is not super profitable. I bake bread and pizzas and that’s enough to feed my family, “, he explained. He added:

„ This is an attack on my livelihood. And I think that’s the message to me, too – that I’m going to be without a livelihood by doing something! “

Karavidov also suspects that the vandalism of his pizzeria may be related to his public activities .

„ We work very actively with Mr. Krustyo Peev. I personally am not one of the most active participants in the Public Council group. I take an active part in making decisions about the publications and their preparation. But I am not one of those who publish or comment the most. Besides, it is a useful activity. We are doing something good for our city. This is the only line where I may have affected some people in some way by any of my actions. But I truly wish it weren’t so! I truly wish I could believe that the society we live in has grown up these processes and has immunity against such actions with some political and social tinge, “, the victim stressed, explaining that he personally is not a direct participant in the political process and only deals with issues that concern civil society.

It is still unclear whether the attack on Karavidov’s pizzeria was indeed carried out because of his public activities . This will certainly become clear at a later stage.
