Only receiving and storing the cartridges in the fresh fuel node is within the scope of permitted activities. The operation of the RWFA cassettes of unit 5 will be possible after the completion of the started licensing process, the announcement specifies. Last year, the Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRA) announced that the regulator had set an internal deadline of the end of March 2024 for a decision on the fuel of the American company Westinghouse, which should be loaded into the fifth unit of the Kozloduy NPP " within the transition process from Russian to American nuclear fuel.
