The director of the Plovdiv Customs, Miroslav Belyashki, was arrested

The director of the Plovdiv Customs, Miroslav Belyashki , was arrested this morning, Plovdiv24.bg reported. Police officers entered the office and the director’s home .

According to unconfirmed information from the police, the arrest is for patronizing a new cigarette smuggling channel, which is linked to Nikola Nikolov – Paskal , who is evading Bulgarian justice.

The Customs Agency press office said it was currently refraining from comment. The state prosecution has also not yet issued a statement.

Recall that Belyashki has held the post since March 2024, replacing Petya Bankova . She, in turn, was arrested 2 weeks after that.
