Burgas with a plan to retain young people and increase the birth rate
Solving the problem of the demographic crisis will be a top priority for Burgas this year, and this is also included in the draft Budget 2024 , which was presented today to the media by Mayor Dimitar Nikolov .
The Mayor said that more investments are expected in the direction of young people , a good living environment and new opportunities for business development .
By 20% will be the funds for the municipal in vitro program . Funding will be provided for the only working laboratory on the territory of the municipality of Burgas at the University Hospital for the purchase of new devices that will increase the success rate in terms of IVF manipulations . Funds for childbirth will also be increased by 17% .
Six new municipal programs have been established for the prevention of eating disorder s, regulation of anabolics, steroids and energy drinks , screening of obese children and a program for children with autism .
Special attention will also be paid towards building on the successes in secondary and primary education with new emphases and improving the functional literacy of Burgas students . Funding to support successful students will also be increased by nearly 18%.
Funding will be provided for the renovation and construction of schools and kindergartens. Schools will be built in Sarafovo, in the yard of the „ Acad. Nikola Obreshkov “ and in „ Kraymorie “ district. The schools „ Anton Strashimirov “, „ Georgi Benkovski “, „ Hristo Botev “ in the „ Sarafovo “ district will be renovated, and a new annex will be built to „ Vasil Aprilov “.
A major renovation will also be carried out in the kindergartens „ Alen Mak “, „ Volshebstvo “, „ Detelina “ and Kindergarten number 3.
This year it is also planned to start the construction of a new student campus on the territory of the municipality of Burgas in the Horizon district. Burgas will also attract students from the fields of Social Pedagogy and Psychology , who will do internships in local nursing homes.
A major renovation of the Dental Centre , known as the Dentistry, will also be carried out, where paediatric surgeries and an emergency reception should be opened.
New sports and activity opportunities for young people, with a new hall to be built at the sports complex in Meden Rudnik . New skate parks will also be built in the area. The Neftohimik hall in the Lazur complex will be renovated.
Additional funds will be provided for organizing and hosting different types of sports forums, as well as a new marathon. In the field of culture, children who are on the periphery of the municipality will be supported in order to attend cultural events .
