In the Recovery and Development Plan, 212.5 million BGN are provided for the development of industrial zones , but the Municipality of Burgas has not yet applied. The deadline for applications to the Ministry of Economy and Growth is November 16.

„ The application deadline was already extended once thanks to my personal efforts, but in the first case and now the Municipality of Burgas did not apply and did not take any steps to develop the industrial zone in Ravnets. We tried to have the deadline extended until after the local elections so that we could submit the funding request if there was a change in local government, which unfortunately did not happen. However, if the municipal administration submits the documentation for the old military airport on time, it can receive up to BGN 40 million to invest in building infrastructure and start the project. But it doesn’t do it, so it will miss this unique chance, for which dozens of municipalities in the country are applying, “, Konstantin Bachiyski commented.

He wonders why the Municipality does not take advantage of the available free financial resources, with which it can transform the old military airport into a place that will create jobs and bring long-term income to Burgas.

In the past four years, BGN 180,000 was never allocated from the municipal budget to be invested in erecting a fence around the former airbase. The fence is part of the conditions for the airport to be licensed.

We’d like to remind you that despite the fact that the Municipality of Burgas did not want to develop the airport, Konstantin Bachiyski with his personal funds hired a company to prepare the documentation for licensing the airport, despite the fact that the project is municipal and the only condition that was an obstacle to the licensing of Ravnets was the presence on this fence.

Back in time, the municipal administration in Burgas three times took steps to destroy the flight capabilities of the runways in order to take away the biggest advantage of Ravnets, i.e. the possibility of having an airport there to serve cargo flights, which would be the most valuable asset of the future industrial zone with the status of a free duty-free zone with a capacity of 8,000 jobs .

„ It must be clear to everyone by now that the vision of the current Burgas administration is to cover the Ravnets airport with solar panels that will bring profit to only one investor, instead of the added value going to the homes of 8,000 families. It is obvious that the management of the Municipality lacks foresight. The only reason I ran for mayor was so that I wouldn’t have to fight daily with this insane economic policy of the Municipality of Burgas, which forces young people to leave our city. We will not give up and will continue to fight to revive Burgas, “, Konstantin Bachiyski commented.
