We report the highest growth of foreign direct investments (FDI)

We report the highest growth of foreign direct investments (FDI) for the last 12 years in Bulgaria. Only for the period January - November 2023, they amount to BGN 7 billion. The increase is nearly BGN 2 billion more than in the same period of 2022. This was announced by the Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov during a meeting with Christophe Debus, Chief Financial Officer of the German company Flix and Petar Bankov, director of the company`s Global Service Center in our country. The meeting discussed the future expansion plans of the German company in Bulgaria. Minister Bogdanov pointed out that our country is a good place for investments and business development. " Bulgaria is becoming a center for development activity in the region. We have proven engineering capacity, and more and more companies are showing interest in opening R&D and expert centers in our country, " he stressed. The Minister of Economy and Industry and the representatives of Flix discussed the development of the company in the country and the expansion of its activities along the lines of the Global Service Center in Sofia and the hiring of new employees there. In 2021, FlixMobility, known for transport services through the FlixBus and FlixTrain brands, invested in an expert center in Sofia (Knowledge Hub Sofia). In the company`s expert center in our country with activities from IT and digitization to marketing and accounting, over 60 people currently work, and the team is expected to continue growing and reach 100 specialists already this year, it became clear at the meeting. With this, the Bulgarian office will become the second largest center of the German company after the one in Munich. The German-based transport company Flix, founded in 2012, is already present in 42 countries with over 78 million customers, managing transport services worldwide, incl. in Europe, North and South America. Thanks to its business model and innovative technology, the company quickly created the longest bus network in Europe, where it is the number one operator.
