Temenuzhka Petkova: The second and third payments under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan are critically important for Bulgaria
Receiving the second and third payments under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan (RSP) are crucial for the implementation of the budget for this year within the set deficit of 3 percent. This became known from the words of Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova in the program " The Day Begins " on BNT.
" A key factor in the implementation of revenues in Budget 2025 is related to revenues, especially under the third payment of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, " said Petkova.
According to her, due to this fact, the government and the Bulgarian parliament are making efforts to fulfill all commitments related to the country receiving the third payment under the RSP.
" These 4.5 billion leva, which are related to the second and third payments under the PVP, are of crucial importance in terms of revenue implementation, respectively budget implementation for 2025. Therefore, all those who try to sabotage the actions of the government and the political forces that support the government in parliament should know that they bear a very serious responsibility if we get to the point where Bulgaria cannot absorb and receive the third payment under the PVP, " said Temenuzhka Petkova, quoted by BTA.
According to her, tension and obstacles are being created to make this happen, by writing signals to the European Commission and Brussels and organizing protests.
Petkova pointed out that with regard to the PVP, a serious start has been made in the absorption and realization of these funds.
" So we hope and expect with great interest and are making great efforts that the revenues that are set aside in the PVP under the second and third payments by the end of the year will be a fact, " the Finance Minister said at the beginning of the interview.
According to Petkova, the state of public finances is directly dependent on the last 4 years of " timelessness ", lack of regular government and political responsibility. " What is happening with the budget is a result of this timelessness, all this populism on the part of some colleagues, former finance ministers, " Petkova also said.
