Pleven and Lovech are on a water regime
Pleven is again on a water regime, although much more relaxed than last summer. Such a regime has also been introduced in the municipality of Lovech for several days. The surrounding villages are also affected.
In Pleven, the regime is from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Due to the reduced pressure, it is a problem to reach quantities to the top floors of high-rise buildings.
Repairs to the outdated city network, through which 70% of water is lost due to accidents, have not yet started, as the projects are in the process of consideration, approval and financing.
Even if construction begins, the laying of new water pipes at critical points will take at least three years, Mayor Valentin Hristov told bTV.
A number of bans have been introduced in the Lovech region - for watering, filling pools and washing vehicles.
Restrictions are also beginning in Stara Zagora due to the water crisis. The use of drinking water for irrigation of agricultural areas, watering green areas, gardens, washing streets, balconies, motor vehicles and other activities unrelated to the drinking and domestic needs of the population is prohibited, the municipality's press center announced.
The order is in force for all settlements on the territory of the municipality, and the mayors and deputy mayors will monitor its compliance, BTA writes.
The municipal leadership calls on the residents of the municipality to be responsible and comply with the imposed measures.
A ban on the use of drinking water for non-domestic needs was introduced on July 31 for the municipality of Sliven and on July 9 for the municipality of Tvarditsa.
