On August 5 at 09:34, the sixth power unit of Kozloduy NPP was included in the national electricity system. The unit was shut down on July 17 for scheduled repairs related to a coolant leak in the third steam generator. After the necessary repairs were completed, equipment tests were carried out, as required by the requirements for safe operation. All checks confirm the operability of the sixth unit's facilities and systems.

In accordance with the technological regulations, the unit's power is being increased in stages. Kozloduy NPP Unit 5 is operating according to the electricity production schedule.

We recall that Kozloduy NPP Unit 6 was shut down due to a coolant leak in the third steam generator.

The decision to shut down was made conservatively in order to ensure the necessary high safety of the unit and reliable electricity supplies during the summer period, and was coordinated with the Electricity System Operator.

Constant monitoring shows that the registered values are many times lower than those specified in the technological regulation. The limits provided for in the standards for safe operation have not been reached and there is no change in the radiation situation in the working premises and on the Kozloduy NPP site.
