George Velev " Bulgarian Energy Holding " EAD has launched a competitive procedure for the selection of members to the Board of Directors of " National Energy Operator " EAD. This was announced by the holding company. A month ago, the new company was structured - NEO, which is expected to be responsible for the development of RES projects in our country. The competition is for the election of three members of the NEO Board of Directors, of whom two will be representatives of the state and one independent member. Applicants must prove that they have at least five years of professional experience in one of the following professional fields: " Social, economic and legal sciences " or " Technical sciences " or " Humanities " or " Security and defense ", with a professional direction - economics, finance, accounting and control, law, energy, construction, engineering and others, is written in the invitation. The deadline for accepting applications is 5 p.m. on May 16. The competition will be held in two stages. At the first stage, the documents of the candidates for the positions will be considered. After seven days of checks, it will become clear who is admitted to the second stage of the application. It will be divided into two stages - the candidates must provide a written vision with priorities for the development of the " National Energy Operator ". The concept should be developed with a long-term vision and a 5-year management horizon of the company. After going through and considering this concept, it comes to an oral interview with the candidates. Pending a competition for the selection of management, Plamen Gerdzhikov, Alexander Mihailov and Kostadin Hristov have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the company. The executive director of the company is Alexander Mihailov, BEH also informed. The main goal of the newly created company is to accelerate the development of balancing capacities for green energy in Bulgaria. The company will implement projects in the field of full utilization of energy generated from renewable sources, and through their implementation, investments in ecologically clean energy will be encouraged and at the same time will help to balance the electricity system. The creation of the new company is in line with the main goals of the Green Deal, namely the transition to a low-carbon economy of the EU through an ever-increasing share of environmentally friendly energy, the holding also recalls. In the context of the priorities set in the Strategic Vision for the Development of the Electricity Sector of the Republic of Bulgaria 2023-2053 for a sustainable transition to low-carbon energy, NEO EAD will focus its efforts on realizing investments in new balancing and production capacities, including systems for energy storage and RES plants, through which the security of the energy system at peak load will be guaranteed, as well as the fulfillment of the commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions laid down in the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan.
