The Ministry of Energy is looking for a solution to the high gas prices in Chiren
At the invitation of the Minister of Energy, Rosen Hristov, a meeting was held with representatives of the Association of Traders and Producers of Natural Gas and Hydrogen. It discussed the main problem with the high price of the inflated gas contracted by the previous managers in the Chiren storage. " The non-transparent procedures for purchasing gas have led to this high price, " explained the minister, quoted by the press center of the energy department. Both sides were adamant that this price was a problem for both the state-owned company Bulgargaz and private companies. " Extracting this gas and putting it on the market leads to an increase in the price for end users. Its detention in Chiren is also a problem, because in this way, on the one hand, hundreds of millions of working capital remain blocked, and on the other, a number of legal requirements for the management of the gas storage facility are violated, " explained Rosen Hristov. He thanked the private sector and trade unions for joining the search for a solution. All participants in the meeting described the conversation as constructive, as concrete measures were identified to be taken in the coming weeks. In this regard, a working group was formed under the leadership of the Ministry of Energy, which has the task of preparing a compensation program and seeking approval from the European Commission. The goal is to achieve a stable and acceptable gas price for end users.
